Our history
1975 - Church planting in the heart of Amsterdam
A church was planted in Amsterdam by the Chinese Overseas Church. They bought a building in the middle of the Red Light District / Chinatown of Amsterdam. And established the Yang Cheun Church there. A church especially for Chinese migrants. It soon filled up and there was a large group of children. Only Cantonese was spoken in the Sunday service. This was not in line with the growing group of children. They are the second generation of Chinese youth. Born in the Netherlands and speak 100% Dutch. That is why they decided to start a Dutch department led by Joyce.
2002 - Originated Life Access
In 2002 the church moved to its current building. Because: there was more space here! And that was also necessary because the group of Dutch-speaking young people started to grow. In 2006, Dandy Lai took over the Dutch-speaking service as pastor. We started our own service at 12:15 p.m.
2019 - A new pastor
In 2019, a survey was conducted among Life Access members. From this survey it became clear that there was a need for unity and vision within Life Access, there was also a desire to be open to other cultures and to reach new people. To achieve this in the coming years, Ben Verboom was hired as the new pastor of Life Access.
2023 - Our future vision
In 2022, more and more cultures came in. Did you know that no fewer than 180 different nationalities live in Amsterdam? We see more and more nationalities coming in! Our dream is to be a vibrant multicultural church grafted on God’s living word, rooted in Jesus Christ and filled with fire by the power of the Holy Spirit. A church that has a healthy balance in word, spirit and good works.
What we believe in

Geloven (Believe): We believe in Jesus.
Doen (Doing), because believing is more than just receiving. We also want to do something actively with our faith.
Samen (Together) because believing alone is very difficult. Whether you are doing well at the moment or little less: you will gain a whole family. Who also pray for you and are there for you.
Get to know our pastor and family
Ben Verboom is the pastor of this church. He and his wife Dorien Verboom passionately lead this church. They have a son named Lukas. He is two years old. Jesus has completely changed their lives and they wish that to everyone!

Groepen
We have cool groups where you can sign up. This is the perfect place to build relationships, make friendships, find depth or measure the culture of our church. We have an English speaking groups. Expats are welcome! View our groups
Kids & Families
Children can participate in the worship and then the children can go upstairs (by stairs or elevator). There are children’s areas where they can play, do crafts and exercise. Every sunday we have a program for the kids. Our biggest goal: that they get to know Jesus at a young age!
